Professor. Abdulrahman Al-Shami, PhD
Abdulrahman Al-Shami is the editor of the Journal of Middle East Media, Arabic edition, Editor-in-Chief of Ansaq Journal, board member of The Arab-U.S. Association of Communication Educators (AUSACE), member of the editorial board of the Journal of Middle East Media (JMEM), a committee member of ARIJ Prize for investigative
reporting in Jordan and founding member of the Arab European Association for Communication Professors and Researchers.
He holds a full professor rank in mass communication and broadcast journalism from the College of Mass Communication, Sana’a University. He is a professor of Mass Communication and Qatar University, having received a PhD in 2004 from Mass Communication College at Al-Azhar University, specialising in the Uses and Gratifications of National and International Television Channels.
His areas of research include new media and social change, satellite channels, media credibility and ethics, and have been published in a number of journals: Journalism and Mass Communication, Jurnal Komunikasi Islam, Journal of Human Sciences, Egyptian Journal for Mass Communication Studies, Journal of Alam AlFekr, Communication and Development Journal, Derasat; Journal of Social Sciences,
Journal of Social and Humanitarian Sciences.
Abdulrahman Al-Shami has taught mass communication research, communication theories, international communication, writing for Radio & TV, drama, editing news texts, personal communication and mass media history.
